We may be WOLF, but we don't live as animals. Every society has rules. Ours are less strict than some, more strict than others, and tend to change as time goes by. These are our rules, if you break them, be prepared to face the consequences, which will vary from a warning or a stern 'talking to,' to immediate guildremoval.

1 Above all, act with honor.
WOLF is a guild that prides itself on her honor. WOLF's honor is a reflection of her membership. Our members strive to be worthy of trust, to all on the hammer.

2 Members of WOLF take care of their own.
If you see a brother or sister in danger, and you can help, you're expected to do so. Remember: We are a family. We do not leave our brothers and sisters in peril.

3 Members of WOLF hunt for themselves.
Members of WOLF will NEVER be seen begging. Such an act is grounds for IMMEDIATE dismissal. Members of WOLF also do not openly ask or solicit powerlevels, nor do we beg for items or the completion of level-innapropriate quests. When the matter of level appropriateness comes into question, the officers will have the final word. A good standard to judge level appropriateness is this: If you are of sufficient level to ASSIST in the destruction of the beast for your quest, then it is appropriate to ask for help.

4 WOLF is a role-play oriented guild.
We're roleplayers, for the most part. We started as a very strict role-play guild, and ended up a very relaxed role-play guild. However, one thing that we will NOT do is allow the concept of 'role-play' to supercede other things, like honor and friendship. We encourage role-play and we enjoy it a lot, but if your role-play is so strict that it stops becoming fun and starts to wear thin, you may want to re-think your character a bit.

5 Members of WOLF are pure of thought.
Members of WOLF abstain from the use of profanity over public channels. This includes Guildchat, Say, Shout, OOC, and Auction. If your group doesn't mind the use of profanity, then by all means, but if someone asks you to stop, you will do so.

6 Members of WOLF show their age.
Members of WOLF will not engage in arguments over shout, ooc, or auction. We expect members of WOLF to act in a mature, dignified way, and not to spam the zones with childish ranting arguments. If you have a beef with someone, take it to tells. Shouting insults and arguments is a poor reflection on you and your guild.

7 Members of WOLF are upstanding citizens of Norrathian Society.
Familiarize yourself with Everquest's official conduct policy (referred to as the 'PNP' - Play Nice Policy) because we enforce it within our own guild. This means ABSOLUTELY NO: Kil-Stealing, Purposeful Training, and Ninja-Looting. If you have any questions about what these are, you can visit: www.everquestlive.com or ask an officer.

Recruiting Policy:
If you're here, and you're not a member of WOLF, it's because you have a friend here, and WOLF welcomes her friends. All WOLF friends are encouraged to post on the 'Recruiting Office.' Make certain you read the post entitled, 'Read this first' and answer the questions asked in that post.

Officers may, at their discretion, invite friends into WOLF without an application. The applications exist so that officers may get to know new recruits. If the officers already know someone they'd like to invite, there really isn't any need for an application.

Upon receiving an application, an officer of WOLF will contact you, either by e-mail, tell, or private message, and further discuss the recruiting policy with you.

WOLF's goal:

We want to have fun. It's not the loftiest of goals, but it's one we'd like to stick to. WOLF is not a raiding guild. WOLF is by no means an UBER guild. We do not, as a guild, crave 'Ph@t Lewtz.' We play this game at a somewhat languid pace, and we enjoy the hell out of it.

Does this mean that as a member of WOLF you will not succeed in things like getting your epic or getting phenomenal gear? Not just no, but HELL no.

WOLF will strive to provide you with an enjoyable playing experience. We understand that part of the enjoyment comes from gaining a great item, or hearing the all-important 'DING.' We won't do all the work for you, but we'll help you get there and help to supply the tools and knowledge, so that you can have the satisfaction of knowing you've earned everything you've got.

Raiding/Event policy:

WOLF is not a raiding guild. This doesn't mean that we don't have raids, but rather, it means that our main focus isn't on raiding. If, as a member, you wish to raid something, then you need to take the initiative and talk about it. Discuss it with those of your level, do the research, post on the boards, and, if possible, lead the raid.

The higher level members of WOLF are there to help you, but it's unrealistic to have a level 55 raid leader raiding Blackburrow. WOLF allows /all levels/ into her ranks, which is something that many other guilds cannot or will not do. In many other guilds, allowing lower level members into the guild is seen as a hindrance. We at WOLF would like to focus on teaching people how to enjoy this game. There is very little that can hinder us at this goal.

GUILD STRUCTURE:
WOLF is, above all, a guild devoted to having fun. If you're not having fun in WOLF, then it may be that you're in the wrong place.

WOLF's guild structure is a question of desire. In the past, we've chosen our officers from those in the guild whom we've felt were most suited to be officers. However, we've noted in the past that officership was never a desire for some members. So, we've designed the 'Guild Structure' accordingly.

Our hopes in devising this structure were to present challenging, enjoyable, and fun scenarios that make WOLF an extremely enjoyable guild to belong to, as well as creating a uniting purpose for all it's members.
1) Core WOLF Guild Structure

A) Cub Council

New recruits that have been invited into WOLF are placed here, in the Cub Council. The Cub Council is the entry-level tier of WOLF's membership. ALL new members, regardless of Race, class, or LEVEL will be known as Cub Council members.

B) Pack Council

Cub Council members that have successfully completed an apprenticeship period and passed the Test of Knowledge may become members of the Pack Council.

Test of Knowledge: The test of Knowledge was designed to do exactly what it says. It's designed to test you in-game knowledge about everything from Gear to Everquest Lore. After you have been in WOLF for one month from the starting date, you will be eligible to take the test of knowledge after one month from the starting date. If you feel you are ready to take the test, contact one of the officers via Private Message (on the message board) and they will set up a time. This is a live test, not a take-home. Please allow some time for the test, as each test will be generated specifically for the player taking the test.

Receiving a passing grade of 70% or higher (the test will be 20 questions long) will elevate you to 'Pack Council' status. You will be recognized both on the message board and in guild-chat. You will also immediately be eligible to take the 'Test of Tactics' for possible 'Elder Council' promotion.

C) Elder Council

The Elder Council is where the October Guard picks their officers from. When it comes time for the October Guard to nominate new officers, all Elder Council members will be eligible for votes by the membership of WOLF.

Test of Tactics: The test of Tactics was designed to show that the Elder Council members have the ability, knowledge, and wherewithal to lead. As stated before, WOLF is not a 'raiding guild.' We would, however, like all of our members to experience raids first hand. Therefore, in order to pass the 'Test of Tactics' the Elder Council potential candidate must both lead a successful raid, and organize at least one social event.

For the purpose of the Test of Tactics a 'successful raid' must include:

1) A Goal - something you wish your raid to accomplish

-and-

2) A Destination and level range approved by the October Guard - No leading a party of level 30's into Crushbone with the Bracers of Battle as your goal
Submit your Test of Tactics raid ideas to the officers via Private Message, and it will be discussed and voted on in the officers' board. Remember, although we may not be there physically (due to possible level restrictions) to help your raid, we are always ready to lend advice.

For the purpose of the Test of Tactics, a 'social event' is described as any of the following events:

1) A Language Faire

2) A Tradeskill Faire

3) Contests (Naked Newbie races, drinking contests, fishing contests, so forth.)

4) A Roleplaying Event

All of the above events should have the following goals:
1) Have Fun
2) Learn something
3) Get someone drunk

Once you have successfully completed the Test of Tactics, you will be promoted into the Elder Council through ceremony. You will be recognized on the Message Boards, and congratulated in Guild Chat. You will then be eligible to join the October Guard, should your fellow guild-mates approve.

D) October Guard

Officers of WOLF are chosen from the Elder Council by the guild at large.

When the current leader of WOLF announces a vote for officership, (usually by means of a post under 'General Information' on the message board) the method of vote will also be announced. All members of WOLF (excluding WOLF's alts) are eligible to vote. The October Guard will do it's best to maintain a member-to-officer ratio of 10-30% to 1 (IE, if WOLF has 100 member, 100 minus 30% is 70, so WOLF will try to have 7 officers.)

Officers take on a heavy burden. Officers are in charge of things such as evolving, reconstructing, and enforcing WOLF Law, settling and mediating disputes, and staying largly involved in the activities of the guild through gameplay, behind the scenes planning, and communications via the Message Boards or E-Mail. All new officers will receive an e-mail forwarding address of 'charname@eqwolf.com' for fast and easy communication. Since officers are the highest form of expression of WOLF's values, officers will act and behave with honor at ALL TIMES.

VOTE OF CONFIDENCE

A vote of confidence can be called at any time by the membership on both the officer and the guild's leader.

If a member feels that a vote of confidence is necessary for an officer, the policy is as thus:

The member will send a private message to an officer in the guild. That officer will then post on the General Information board that a vote of confidence has been called for said officer/leader. A vote will be called, and tallied, via Private Message. At the time, the officers would ask that when you place your vote, you will send your vote to at least three different officers, in the interest of fairness. The officers will tally the votes and, if there is a simple majority against the officer in question, that officer will be removed from the October Guard, and placed back in the Elder Council.

If the vote of confidence was enacted against the leader, and there is a simple majority vote asking the leader to step down, the leader will do so and join the October Guard as a regular officer.
